At its heart, Blankets of Blessing is about reminding people that they are seen, valued, and loved. Life isn't always easy. We all walk through seasons of grief, illness, loneliness, uncertainty, or hardship, and sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference. A handmade blanket is more than yarn and stitches, it is a tangible reminder that someone took the time to care. Every stitch is worked with intention, every row is woven with hope, and every finished blanket carries a message that says, "You matter. You are not forgotten. You are loved." Whether your blanket is given to someone in need, donated to a local organization, or raffled or auctioned to raise funds for a meaningful cause, it becomes a blessing that reaches far beyond the maker. Together, we can wrap our communities in warmth, compassion, and the love that has the power to bring comfort when it is needed most.
Over the course of six weeks, we'll come together as a community to crochet beautiful granny squares that will become meaningful blankets to bless others. Whether you're joining us in person or from hundreds of miles away, we'd love to have you stitch alongside us.
Everyone Is Welcome
Our Crochet Along is open to everyone, no matter where you live!
Local participants are invited to join us in the shop every Tuesday and Friday from 5:00–7:00 PM for six weeks beginning Tuesday, August 4. Bring your current squares, ask questions, learn new techniques, and enjoy the fellowship of creating together.
Joining from afar? You can participate right from your favorite cozy stitching spot! Follow along at your own pace, share your progress online, and be part of our growing community of makers united by one purpose, blessing others through handmade gifts.
How It Works
Each participant will crochet 48 granny squares using 6 different square designs (8 of each design). We'll work through the squares together while encouraging one another and celebrating each finished square along the way.
We'll be choosing our square patterns from two wonderful resources, but you can chose your designs from anywhere:
- Bella Coco Crochet Stitch Card Deck
- The Granny Square Card Deck
These card decks offer a wide variety of beautiful designs, allowing every blanket to become uniquely yours.
Suggested Square Designs
One of the fun parts of this Crochet Along is that every participant gets to make each square their own! Choose 6 different stitch patterns then use those stitch patterns to create your 48 squares (8 squares of each stitch design).
Here are a few stitch ideas to inspire your choices:

A Great Scrap-Busting Project
This Crochet Along is the perfect opportunity to put your yarn stash to good use.
Mix colors, use leftover skeins, or create a coordinated blanket with brand-new yarn. Every square becomes part of a story, and every finished blanket becomes a gift of comfort.

More Than Crochet
While we'll learn new stitches and build our crochet skills, this project is about so much more than making blankets.

It's about using the gifts God has given us to bring warmth, hope, and comfort to someone who needs it.
