Anchored in Hope: A Beanie with Purpose
There are some projects that are simply beautiful, and then there are projects that carry a deeper meaning. The Anchored in Hope Beanie is one of those special designs that was created from the heart.Â
As many of you know, Teal Dragonfly Creations has always been about more than yarn. It is about community, encouragement, healing, and finding hope through life's challenges. This design was inspired by some of the strongest women I have known, women who have faced cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers with incredible courage and grace.
The female reproductive system has personally been a source of challenges throughout my own life; struggling with getting pregnant with my two miracle babies and having losses, needing an oophorectomy at 25 and going through menopause, and then just this June needing a hysterectomy. Thankfully, I have not experienced cancer with any of the issues that plagued my female reproductive system, but through those experiences, I have met and loved women who have battled these cancers. Some are survivors whose stories inspire me every day. Others are dearly missed but never forgotten. Their strength, faith, and determination became the inspiration behind this design.

The Meaning Behind the Colors
The coordinating hand-dyed yarn colorway, also named Anchored in Hope, was carefully created to represent these cancer awareness colors:
Teal and Cream represent Cervical Cancer Awareness.
Teal represents Ovarian Cancer Awareness.
Peach represents Uterine Cancer Awareness.
Together, these colors create a beautiful reminder that even in life's most difficult storms, hope remains.

Why "Anchored in Hope"?
An anchor symbolizes stability, strength, and perseverance. It holds steady when the waters become rough. Hope works much the same way.
When life feels uncertain, hope keeps us grounded. It reminds us that we are not alone and that brighter days are ahead. As Christians, our hope is found in Christ. It is not a wishful thinking kind of hope, but a confident hope rooted in God's promises.
"We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain." ~Hebrews 6:19 (ESV)Â
This verse became the foundation for the name of both the beanie and the colorway. No matter what diagnosis, struggle, or season we face, we can remain anchored in the hope we have in Him.
More Than a Beanie
Every stitch in the Anchored in Hope Beanie represents resilience. Every color represents a story. Every finished beanie serves as a reminder that strength can be found even in difficult circumstances. Whether you make one for yourself, a loved one, or someone currently walking through a health journey, my prayer is that this design becomes a tangible reminder of hope, courage, and faith.

A Message to Survivors, Fighters, and Families
To every survivor: your strength inspires us.
To every woman currently fighting: we are cheering you on.
To every family supporting a loved one: your love matters.
And to those remembering someone special: their legacy continues through the lives they touched.
May this design serve as a reminder that hope remains, healing is possible, and God walks beside us through every season.
